General Manager
£100k per year + 15% bonus

This is a fantastic new role to run an upscale property in Cambridge. The successful applicant will be attuned to upmarket, lifestyle brands and will immerse themselves in the local culture and heritage of Cambridge.

Must have experience of managing lifestyle hotels/ aparthotels previously.


You will be responsible for the following:-


Business Development

  • Continuously looking for opportunities to maximise revenue and occupancy levels, in co-ordination with the regional Sales Team and Revenue Management Team

  • Promoting the brand through events and media, in co-ordination with the Commercial Manager

  • Ensuring your team and you identify upselling opportunities

  • Ensuring your team and you build relationships with guests to encourage repeat business


Delivering Guest/ Customer Service

  • Ensure you and your team provide memorable service at every stage of the guest journey

  • Ensuring you and your team respond to and act on guest reviews in a timely and professional manner

  • To ensure that your team can share the fun and exciting things to do in and around the area



People Management

  • Strong communication, leadership and engagement

  • Recruiting high calibre talent

  • Setting SMART goals and measuring performance and delivering feedback

  • Performance Management

  • Succession Planning and team development (including on the job training and coaching)

Day-to-Day Operation

  • Accountable for all team members, ensuring they perform their duties and job descriptions in line with company expectations

  • Accountable for the daily operational running of the site and ensuring the site meets industry standards as minimum

  • Ultimate decision making with regards to effective rota management of your team

  • Delegating daily tasks as required to your team to ensure the smooth running of the aparthotel operation

  • Accountable for Health and Safety on your site(s)

  • Reviewing the P&L and cost control management to set the strategy for driving future business performance

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of refurbishment and cap ex spend, including liaising with contractors, in line with budget

  • Co-ordinating with the Food and Beverage Manager to ensure sales and revenue are maximised

  • Accountable for the delivery of overall inventory management and allocations through your teams

  • Leading team meetings to ensure your teams are involved and informed

  • On call and Duty Management responsibilities
