As Jr Sous you will be responsible for

Food Preparation and Cooking
Assist in preparing and cooking dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
Take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, pastry, sauces) during service.
Support in creating new dishes or menu items under the guidance of the Sous Chef and Head Chef
Team Leadership and Supervision
Supervise and support junior kitchen staff and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members.
Delegate tasks and ensure all team members understand their responsibilities and the menu they are cooking
Kitchen Operations
Oversee the kitchen and pass in the absence of the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
Ensure food preparation and storage adhere to health and safety regulations, including HACCP and food hygiene standards.
Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organization, and equipment upkeep as well as teaching Junior memebers how to use safely
Stock Management and Ordering
Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure the kitchen is well-supplied.
Assist in ordering ingredients and other kitchen supplies to avoid shortages or excess waste.
Contribute to minimizing food costs through effective portion control and waste management.
Quality Control and Presentation
Conduct quality checks to ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s standards for taste, presentation, and temperature.
Collaborate with the team to ensure consistent quality across all dishes served.

Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years in a kitchen as CDP and eagerness to learn more!

Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive knowledge of tradional cuisines and cooking techniques
A strong understanding of seasonal produce
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work well in a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation
Experience in menu development
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced kitchen environment, may require evening and weekend shifts
