There was big news in the global hotel industry this week, with major hotel group Carlson Rezidor giving word that it's set to bring a pair of new worldwide hotel brands into being.
The announcement came as part of the Radisson and Radisson Blu Americas business conference.
The idea behind one of the new brands, Radisson Red, according to the company, is to bring a future-style experience to modern day customers.
Carlson Rezidor wants to bring about a new category in the industry called Lifestyle Select with Radisson Red.
Part of this will involve recognising the more and more important part that technology has in allowing for great everyday experience, it suggests.
The plan is that the brand will launch next year in locations including Europe and the Americas.
The second new brand is called Quorvus Collection and will offer luxury venues. These will be distinctive five-star hotels.
The plan is that the first members of the brand will be announced in the next quarter of this year.
This side of 2020, it's planned that 20 Quorvus and 60 Radisson Red venues will be created, no doubt bringing about hospitality jobs in the process.
Among the current Carlson Rezidor brands are Park Plaza and Radison Blu.
"Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection are inspired by Vision 20/20, an evolution of our Ambition 2015 growth strategy,” Carlson chief executive officer and president Trudy Rautio explained.
"Vision 20/20 aspires to elevate the guest experience with innovations in technology, guest service and beyond. These two brand concepts will illustrate that perfectly. This is a distinct opportunity for Carlson Rezidor to introduce new experiences, as well as exciting and relevant services, that uniquely differentiate our brands. Quorvus Collection and Radisson Red are the first manifestations of that vision."
