The Restaurant Group (TRS) has revealed that it enjoyed "excellent performance" across it's entire brand range in the first half of 2013.
In a statement, the firm announced that like-for-like sales for the 26 weeks to June 30th (2013) had increased by five per cent, while total revenue had risen by a mammoth 11.5 per cent to £280 million. This means that pre-tax profit was up by 15 per cent to £30 million, allowing the organisation to bring down its current debt to £27.1 million.
One of the main drivers behind this success would have been the Group's opening of seven new sites in the first six months of the year, with plans to open another 35 by the end of 2013. The company, which runs up to 400 venues, owns UK-wide chains such as Frankie & Benny's, Garfunkel's, Coast to Coast and Chiquito, and is responsible in creating hundreds of hospitality jobs every year.
TRS chief executive Andrew Page said: "Our new restaurants are trading ahead of expectations, are on track to deliver high returns and the forward pipeline of new sites to 2015 and beyond is the best we’ve seen for many years and the quality is first class. As always, our team has worked extremely hard to deliver these results; we are fortunate to have such a professional and dedicated team at TRG whose efforts are now focused on ensuring that we maintain this strong momentum going forward."
This success is set to continue for the rest of the year, with four new sites having already opened in the second half of 2013, and like-for-like sales growth for the 34 weeks up to August 25th sitting at 4.25 per cent.
