Splashing! Hotel bars you can swim to

A list of hotel bars that are part of pools – so called swim up bars – was recently curated by the trivago.co.uk website, which claimed the eight hotel bar locations it highlighted are 'the best' globally.

An increasing number of hotel locations are getting these sorts of bars, it seems, where it's possible to order something to sip, while you're still in the water.

Here are the eight bars that the site – the biggest hotel search website on the net – listed, with some of the points they made.

Caribbean: The Regent Palms

This resort can be found at the Turks and Caicos Islands, near Grace Bay Beach. As well as a swim-up bar, the features of the hotel include a wellness centre, fitness complex and infinity pool.

Mexico: Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort  

This resort includes a swim up bar where it's possible to take-in the sunset against the Caribbean Sea. It has suites and villas overlooking the sea, too. Outdoor activities include waterslide, sunloungers aqua aerobics.

Hawaii: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa

This location is on Maui island, feature suites with ocean views and a shoreline including beach huts. The swim-up bar is grotto-set.

Thailand: The Kee Resort & Spa

This resort is found in Phuket. It has eight spa treatment rooms, and six sorts of hotel rooms to choose from. The spa's look is inspired by Old Phuket's Sino-Portuguese architecture. Of course, there's a swim-up bar – this one is in a pool at the middle of the resort.

USA: Room Mate Grace

This is a Times Square, New York City set hotel with its own swim-up bar. This watery bar is indoors. The hotel's rooms are said to have a contemporary feel and range between premium suites and communal rooms with four beds.

Dubai: Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah

This includes views onto the Dubai skyline, which can be gazed at on a private beach, from over the water. There's a pool with palm trees and tropical gardens around it, as well as a swim-up bar.

Croatia: Hotel Monte Mulini

This boutique hotel venue can be found situated on the Istrian coast – and every suite and room includes a harbour view. It features a range of bars, wellness spa and restaurant in the wine cellar. The swim-up bar allows people to take-in the coast of Croatia.

Barbados: Crystal Cove

This location has a trio of tropical, lagoon-style pools. A golf course and tennis court are among the sporting activities provided for guests. The swim-up bar is behind a waterfall in a grotto location.

What's your bar like?
