Redefine Hotels and BDL Management have formed a merger that will see the development of the largest independent hotel management firm in the UK.
Together, they will become Redefine BDL Hotels, and the company now hopes to make a lasting impact within the market. The merger also means that the 60 hotels in the UK, which is operated between the two firms, will be managed by a singular team. These hotels are under various popular brands such as Holiday Inn, Ramada, Crowne Plaza, Best Western, and are responsible for having created 3,000 hospitality jobs in the sector.
It is important to note that Redefine's Londerone and the Glasgow office for BDL will be controlled by Helder Pereira, the company's new chairman, who also stressed that this move would help both parties to grow at a much faster pace.
Stewart Campbell, managing director of the now new company, said: “This merger provides a new and stronger financial and operational platform from which we can grow our business. We are firmly placed at the forefront of developments within the industry and are excited by the prospect of offering new and enhanced services to hotel owners and partners, through our specialist knowledge and depth of resource, to deliver the best in hotel management services.”
Mr Campbell went on to state that he hopes to add a further 15 hotels to the company's portfolio by the end of next year, whilst also aiming to keep contracts with all the other companies it currently works with. Further expansion is also hoped through new management contracts in order to be ahead of trends in both Europe and North America.
This expansion is set to help local communities so that they can both develop their hospitality markets and boost their economies over the next few years.
