PizzaExpress has launched a new competition to celebrate some fresh dishes hitting its menu.
The restaurant, no stranger to consumer competitions as a promotional tool, has recently given word of the Twitter-based contest.
In the competition, running until April 9th this year, customers are asked to view an online video and then post their answer to a question on social media platform Twitter, adding #springpizza as a hashtag.
A winner will get a £500 gift card after being picked at random following the promotion.
As well as featuring the competition question, relating to the newly debuted Spring Collection menu, the video features numerous shots of PizzaExpress food being created.
It comes after the opening of another PizzaExpress competition themed around the Spring collection and taking place on social media.
Customers are being encouraged to follow the brand on the Instagram platform, then post a picture of themselves at a branch tagged #pizzafashionista, in a comp that opened April 2nd and closes April 11th this year. The idea is that the photos show customers 'looking fabulous' according to the brand.
Three gift vouchers are on offer for winners, and entries are being judged based on the creativity, quality and originality on show.
PizzaExpress is one of the most successful restaurant brands out there. Customers are presented with a menu featuring a variety of foods including pizza with many different styles of topping, salads and much more – including a starters selection featuring the likes of dough balls and bruschetta. Big-name competitors to the brand include Ask.
Social media competitions are a popular way for brands in many different sectors to seek promotion and get customers to spend some time engaging with them online.
