There's set to be a new Managing Director of Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants soon, with current post holder Patrick Dempsey leaving the position this coming February. As of March 1st, Paul Flaum will take on the role.
Mr Flaum is already head of Whitbread Restaurants and has 11 years of experience with Whitbread. Before his present position, he was Chief Operating Officer at Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants.
Mr Dempsey has been with Whitbread for a decade and is set to depart the company when he leaves his present job there.
He said that he is very proud of the achievements his team has made when it comes to Premier Inn and Whitbread's restaurants.
Since the Premier Inn brand has grown so well during the past eight years, he said, "we believe that now is the right time for me to hand over the baton". Mr Dempsey's last day in the job will be February 28th next year.
Simon Jones is set to report to Paul Flaum in Jones' new role as managing director of Premier Inn UK and hub by Premier Inn.
Mark Anderson is getting extra responsibility for Premier Inn in Germany, on top of the responsibilities he already has within property, procurement and logistics.
"I would like to thank Patrick for his tremendous contribution to Whitbread over the last decade," commented Chief Executive Officer of Whitbread, Andy Harrison.
"During this time we have transformed Premier Inn into the UK’s biggest and best hotel chain and developed exciting new growth opportunities with the launch of hub by Premier Inn, and our recently announced entry into the German hotel market."
He spoke of the company's ambitious plans to grow going forward and said that these, coupled with how strong performance is at present, mean it's "a good time" to carry out succession plans.
