A new 5,000 sq ft restaurant and cocktail bar is set to open on the ground floor of One Canada Square in London.
The Canary Wharf skyscraper will see a new modern restaurant by the London-based firm ETM group, and it will have the same name as the office block. There will be a 30-cover bar and a restaurant that features 100 seats and a mezzanine floor. The latter in particular will be designed by David Collins Studio, and will take inspiration from the office block’s green Guatemalan and Italian marble to develop stunning pillars that will serve as its backdrop.
Tom Martin, co-founder of the ETM Group, said: “We have been looking for a site in Canary Wharf for several years now and are delighted to have been given the opportunity by our landlord, Canary Wharf Group, to launch a brand new restaurant and cocktail bar at the epicentre of Canary Wharf. We love this dynamic and constantly developing area and the customer base is exactly what ETM is geared towards.”
ETM Group, which was founded between Tom Martin and his brother Ed in 2000, has been building its portfolio of restaurants and hospitality jobs across the capital city in recent years. It has had recent successes in The Botanist at Sloane Square and Chiswell Street Dining Rooms, whilst the firm also owns eight gastropubs in London including The Gun at the Docklands and The Jugged Hare in Barbican.
Canary Wharf currently features over 240 bars, shops, restaurants and cafes which are all let. There is also at least 154,000 sq ft of new retail space being constructed at both above the Canary Wharf Crossrail Station and in an extension of the Jubilee Place Shopping Mall.
The restaurant is set to open in September, later this year.
