Would-be London visitors, and other people interested in the city, have been given a new TripAdvisor feature, which the brand claims will make it easier for people to discover local accommodation that perfectly matches the trip they’re taking.
The feature is called Neighbourhoods and covers London, as well as a range of other big cities like Berlin, Paris, New York City and Rome.
There are 14 ‘Neighbourhoods’ cities at present, and more are set to be added going forward.
TripAdvisor says the new addition aims to support users in finding and exploring neighbourhoods, and makes it more easy for them to track down eateries, accommodation and attractions ‘that are perfect for their trip’.
‘TripAdvisor’s new Neighbourhoods feature combines millions of traveller insights along with curated content to help travellers explore the distinctive parts of some of the world’s most travelled cities,’ explained senior vice president of global product, Adam Medros.
‘Big city neighbourhoods often feel like cities unto themselves—and our Neighbourhoods feature gives travellers a powerful tool to discover all of the unique spots these popular cities have to offer.’
The fresh feature can be seen on TripAdvisor’s English language websites, and is available in every language which the brand’s mobile apps support.
If a user looks at destination pages for a place covered by the feature, they get information on the main neighbourhoods in that place – and a map that shows where each of these is in the city.
They can hone in on one neighborhood to look at more details about this area – such as hotel reviews for local accommodation and restaurant reviews for local eateries.
TripAdvisor recently announced that London had been 2014’s most reviewed city destination on its site globally.
Rome was the second most-reviewed city, and Paris came third on the list. New York City and Barcelona also made the top five.
