Whitbread recently gave word at MIPIM 2014 that it has struck new deals for a pair of London locations for 'hub By Premier Inn' venues.
That means there are now nine development sites secured for 'hub' locations. Seven of these are located in central London (pictured), the remaining pair in Edinburgh.
The latest announcement also means that in excess of 350 guest rooms have been added to the secured development pipeline for 'hub' projects – taking the total number of 'hub' rooms in the pipeline to over 1,700.
One of the newly announced sites is on St Swithin's Lane, close to Bank, the other is on Quaker Street in Shoreditch.
The St Swithin's Lane venue will feature 66 rooms and is set to be created via a combination of new build and conversion activity. The Shoreditch venue is going to feature around 300 rooms and is set to be newly built but include an existing facade.
Later this year, a 'hub By Premier Inn' venue will open for the first time. This initial location will be in the West End on St Martin’s Lane.
"Premier Inn is powering forward with strong growth and market-leading occupancy levels. To help us get to our overall growth target of 75,000 Premier Inn bedrooms by 2018, we’re adding new sites for both our established Premier Inn and our brand new ‘hub by Premier Inn’ formats," commented Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants' head of acquisitions, John Bates.
"These two new ‘hub by Premier Inn’ sites represent two more excellent locations – ideal for customers who want even better value accommodation in the City of London."
The idea of the 'hub' brand is to provide city centre venues offering comfort, style and digital connectivity, according to Whitbread.
