Mostar is ‘Best Value Destination’ 2015

Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been placed first in a 2015 Best Value Destinations list from

The chart uses information on hotel prices, as well as ratings and reviews.

Mostar's index score was 97.37 per cent, number two on the list was Novi Sad in Serbia (97.18 per cent), followed by Lijiang in China (96.99 per cent), Plovdiv in Bulgaria (96.96 per cent) and Szeged in Hungary (96.53 per cent).

All in all, the list features 100 destinations, three of which are in the United Kingdom.

Torquay was the highest ranked UK spot on the list at number 54, while Whitby wasn't too far behind at 61 and Llandudno in Wales made it to number 76.

Rankings were determined via an algorithm that used trivago Hotel Price Index and trivago Reputation Ranking hotel data.

Hotel prices used were the average cost of one night in a standard double guest room, based on information on trivago.

The 2015 Best Value Destinations run down "presents the traveller with lesser-known destinations off the beaten track. Each destination offers excellent value for money, with low prices and highly rated hotels," says the brand.

Also in the top ten were Indian destination Amritsar (96.52 per cent), Ouarzazate in Morocco (96.47 per cent), Kaliningrad in Russia (96.4 per cent), Arequipa in Peru (96.4 per cent) and Pingyao in China (96.39 per cent).

According to trivago, winning destination Mostar is among the most famous places in Bosnia & Herzegovina and features attractive landscape, Mediterranean weather conditions and good tourist hotels.

People in hotel jobs in all the destinations on the top 100 will no doubt be pleased by the achievement of their local area when they hear the news!
