Lindley Venue Catering has managed to secure a new £13 million contract with Swindon Town Football Club. The firm, which is a division of the wider Lindley Group, will be offering catering services on both match and non-match days for the next ten years until the 2022-23 season.
As part of the contract, the group will also be in charge of managing events at the 15,728-seat stadium, in the hope that the ground's hospitality facilities will be vastly improved over the next few years.
Jonathan Davies, the Lindley Group’s sales and marketing director, said: "Entering into this ten-year joint venture has confirmed the club’s commitment to retaining Lindley Venue Catering as its catering partner for the next decade. We look forward to establishing the county ground as a top-choice venue for conference and event organisers in the area, as well as along the M4 corridor and beyond."
Initially, a £1.25 million deal had been established in 2009 for five years, and so many speculated that discussions between Swindon FC and Lindley would probably not take place until at least the end of next season. This contract has now been signed a year early to get all the improvement work underway as soon as possible.
Swindon Town general manager Steve Murrall added that Lindley has already proved its expertise in the past four years and that he hopes that this new contract will encourage business to be attracted to the grounds whilst also boosting catering recruitment in the wider region.
This news follows recent announcements that Lindley Group had also secured catering contracts with Watford FC, Doncaster Rovers and Gloucestershire Country Cricket Club. The Group was recently acquired by event company Centerplate, which is based in North America.
