Jurys Inn has announced that it is giving people up to a quarter off best rates, for room-only on the basis of a pair sharing.
The offer covers bookings that are made from 14 to 28 days before the stay (the number varies between different hotels).
The promotion, available on the Jurys Inn website, covers stays taking place from July 18th to September 7th this year.
The hotel group also says that it linked up with the positive psychology practitioner Miriam Akhtar after research revealed that taking even short breaks from day to day life can affect well being and happiness a lot.
It says Ms Akhtar has outlined how, if peoples' budgets can't reach to the price of a two week break this year, a Jurys Inn city break can be equally relaxing and refreshing.
“Leaving the everyday at home and engaging in something new is a way to greater well-being," Ms Akhtar has said, in comments that are sure to help promote hotel breaks.
"It gives us time to stop, relax and look around and to connect with our loved ones without the cluttered noise of our daily lives."
She also said that learning new things improves wellbeing.
British cities have a lot to offer in the way of stimulation through the "architecture, history, arts, culture and cuisine" they feature, she explained, with a lot of this free to see.
"Our cities also offer some great outdoor spaces and just five minutes of physical activity in a green environment like a park, is all it takes to generate positive emotions," the positive psychologist and contributor to the ‘World Book of Happiness’, said.
