Job Purpose - HOTEL SALES EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

Proactively manage and drive the hotels sales function which is critical to business success. With a focus on achieving turnover and profit targets, compose and implement innovative sales strategies and plans linked to ambitious business development targets. Identify and progress innovative opportunities to increase sales in line with business plan objectives. Target local businesses to drive events and room sales , manage a small team.

Location - Darlington Area

Salary – up to £35,000K pa + Bonus + Medical

Principal Accountabilities - Very Proactive Role 

Utilise professional skills and experience to drive the sales team to achieve ambitious sales and revenue targets linked to stretching strategic business development objectives.  

Through a focus on results and performance, instill a culture of competitive drive within the sales team so that team members are motivated on achieving and where possible exceeding sales targets.   

Use personal sales track record to identify and progress innovative sales opportunities and initiatives, with the aim of further developing the business keeping the offer to customers fresh and unique, in line with the hotels mission and values. 

Through self-assurance and professional knowledge, create a fast paced environment in the sales office, by engaging the commitment of team members, focusing them on goals and solving any problems as soon as they arise.

Monitor performance of team members, ensuring they take personal responsibility for delivering excellent customer service. Take immediate action to advise and coach team members if required processes are not followed or if sales opportunities are missed.

Identify and implement pricing and selling parameters, with an eye on the market place, to ensure the hotel stays ahead of its immediate competitors and progresses towards its goal of being the best in its field.  

Ensure the sales function makes a strong contribution to expanding the customer base, through which existing customers which to return again and again and there is increased demand from new customers.   

With a sales focus, carry out market research and identify best practice with the aim of monitoring trends, and identifying new sales opportunities and service offerings. Work proactively on sales reporting and forecasting, costings and reviewing yields.  

Overall, take pride in the work of the sales team and work with team colleagues to continuously and proactively suggest improvements to the sales and marketing service.

As a member of the senior management team, make a positive contribution to the broader management and ongoing success of the business, including acting as Duty Manager when required.
