Senior Appointments development: Positive signs within the hospitality industry indicate improving economic situation
In a new and positive sign of strength in the hospitality industry, leading recruitment consultancy Berkeley Scott, the foremost hospitality recruiter, has today announced that Simon Tucker-Brown is to join the company to head up the re-established ISIS brand.
ISIS is an executive and board-level search practice that deals solely with senior appointments within the hospitality and leisure industries.
Tucker-Brown's appointment and the development of the ISIS division will enable the company to respond to changes in the economy and further extend its client portfolio from its core business of predominantly operational staff, chefs and General management, into new executive level markets.
Berkeley Scott have also witnessed over the past quarter a 350% increase in the number of clients approaching them about senior management, as businesses come to recognise that the strategic leadership that they previously had needs to be reinstated or in some circumstances changed.
Economic commentators recognise that companies looking at their executive structures is a sign of positivity within the employment market as a whole and moreover in the hospitality industry. "Re-establishing ISIS is about Berkeley Scott giving a strong commitment to, and demonstrating our confidence in, the growth of the market, the wider industry and our own business" explains Mark Darby, managing director of Berkeley Scott.
The recruitment of Tucker-Brown is a coup. A highly accomplished search and selection specialist with an impressive record of delivery, he initially spent 12 years in a number of senior positions in the hotel industry. Since 1998 Tucker-Brown has been in executive search, focusing on the hospitality & leisure sector both domestically and internationally. Simon has managed assignments across a broad range of disciplines at senior executive and board level.
Tucker-Brown is well known and respected by senior executives and board members in the hotel, hospitality and leisure sectors and is regarded by many as the countries foremost hospitality search and selection specialist.
"Our executive candidates and business partners need the discretion that a boutique can provide, which is why we have established ISIS as a separate operation within the Berkeley Scott business" explains Darby. "With his strategic insights and experience in dealing with the big players, Simon is well-suited to lead the ISIS division."
Tucker-Brown commented "I look forward to leading ISIS. Berkeley Scott has a pedigree to be proud of and the direction it is heading in, the pride it has in the quality of service it offers and the responsibility it feels towards the hospitality industry is unique and something I strongly agree with. It was a natural and easy decision to join them and the opportunity open to me is extremely exciting, giving me a platform to develop a business which is truly unique."
