Learning and Development
The Berkeley Scott Academy
The Berkeley Scott Academy is an internal learning and development function and an integral part of the business. The Academy provides support and development for all employees throughout the whole of their careers at Berkeley Scott. We offer this support through: group inductions, one to one coaching, classroom training and self development.
The Berkeley Scott Academy comprises a suite of generic training programmes for employees new to recruitment, or experienced recruiters wanting to refresh their existing skills. These programmes take our employees through the whole recruitment cycle, from interviewing skills, through to sales and understanding and empathising with both client and candidate needs.
We also have a suite of management development programmes to support all line managers to maximise their own and their staff's competency levels. This is delivered in the context of a culture of coaching, where managers empower their staff to take ownership and accountability for their own specific business sector.
The Berkeley Scott Academy also works closely with the board and senior management team to ensure it reflects the growing needs and changing requirements of the business. The Academy supports the business with succession planning and talent management. This increases staff retention and maintains high performance levels across all brands within the Kellan Group, including Berkeley Scott.
