Hilton’s Hampton will double it’s hotels in next two years

Hotel group Hilton Worldwide has announced that it will be doubling it's presence of the Hampton brand in the UK to 23 properties by 2015.

As part of this expansion, two new hotels in Gatwick Airport and Birmingham, totalling £22 million, will be built. The Birmingham City North site will feature 109 bedrooms and will be opened in the summer, whilst the Gatwick Airport hotel will be at the airport's North Terminal, directly connected to the terminal via a covered walkway. The latter, which is joining the 821-bedroom site at South Terminal, will have 192 bedrooms, two meeting rooms, and is scheduled to open in early next year.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president for Europe and Africa Hilton, said: "Hampton by Hilton’s continued UK growth is giving increasingly savvy consumers greater access to exceptional hotel experiences at highly competitive rates and in more locations. With these latest hotels in Gatwick and Birmingham now under development, the strong momentum behind Hampton by Hilton means we are on track to double the current UK portfolio by 2015."

Furthermore, both new hotels will feature free, high-speed Wi-Fi, daily hot breakfast, and 24-hour business and fitness centres. It is hoped that the two new hotels will create around 55 new hospitality jobs for their respective local areas.

Mark Nogal, regional head in Europe, added: “Since introducing the brand to the UK in 2009, Hampton by Hilton has proved to be a real hit with guests, owners and developers alike. Our hotels are designed to cater to the busy modern travellers’ every need, providing affordable prices as well as quality accommodations with friendly service.”

This news comes just after Hampton by Hilton opened its 11th hotel in Exeter. The value brand was initially launched in the UK four years ago, and now operates 1,900 properties all over the world.
