Hilton and VisitScotland launch Brilliant Moments comp

Hilton Hotels and VisitScotland are offering a new competition. The contest is linked to a VisitScotland marketing campaign called Brilliant Moments.

"It’s wonderful to work with Hilton Hotels, one of the world’s most recognised hotel brands, to provide these five incredible once-in-a-lifetime prizes," commented VisitScotland chief executive, Malcolm Roughead.

The prizes in question are special hotel breaks. For example, there's an Ultimate Cities Experience featuring a stay in the Scottish city of Glasgow, as well as its capital, Edinburgh.

Whoever wins will have a chance to visit and scale the Forth Road Bridge during this year's Forth Bridges Festival. They will also get a package for the Edinburgh Festivals and a chance to see this year's Royal Military Tattoo's finale performance.

Another prize winner will get to see The Ryder Cup first hand on September 26th this year, when the tournament is at Gleneagles, get a four-night stay in Glasgow and a two-night experience at Hilton Dunkeld House.

There are other prizes on offer in the competition as well.

Recently VisitScotland ran a Brilliant Island Momne giveaway alongside partners. This gave away some 8,000 ferry tickets.

"From exploring the host city of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games to experiencing the electrifying atmosphere of the Edinburgh Festivals and Ryder Cup –there’s no doubt that these five lucky winners will enjoy countless brilliant moments whilst having the time of their lives!" commented Mr Roughead of VisitScotland's latest competition.

Meanwhile, STV is currently airing a VisitScotland advert focusing on some of Scotland's 2014 events, which will appear on the channel until the end of March.

One in five people visiting Scotland are influenced in their choice of destination after they see the country on TV or film, VisitScotland research suggests.

Its chair, Mike Cantlay, recently predicted that the new Scottish-set movie Under The Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson, would  "generate added interest in a country that already has so much to offer visitors."
