Independent brewery BrewDog has opened its twelfth new bar of 2014 – with the new addition sited in Helsinki, Finland.
It follows bar launches in locations such as Tokyo, Bologna, Liverpool and Sheffield earlier in the year.
Another new BrewDog bar, this one in Barcelona, will be the next to open its doors, with a Berlin bar also on the cards for the near future.
According to the Scottish brewery, local people campaigned online in the hopes of getting BrewDog to open in Helsinki.
Housed in what used to be a bank, 90 people can use the new bar at any one time and it has 18 tap beers representing a variety of breweries.
The people in hospitality jobs at the bar will teach customers about brewing and craft beer at beer school and brew session events, while 'Meet the brewer' sessions are set to take place regularly.
The food options include meat and cheese platters and various Finnish sweet foods.
"BrewDog Helsinki is probably the most keenly anticipated bar we have launched so far. For years craft beer fans in the country have been crying out [for] us to set up a BrewDog home there," explained James Watt, who is the co-founder of BrewDog alongside Martin Dickie.
"Since our Finnish fans crashed our website when we asked for location suggestions for future BrewDog bars, we have been working hard to secure a site. It’s been a hell of a ride creating the perfect location, but we’re thrilled to finally be answering the call of so many passionate beer advocates.”
The Finnish breweries whose beers will be available on tap at the Helsinki location include Sori Brewery and Maku Brewing.
Mr Watt has said that "Finland is a hotbed for creativity and passion within the brewing world".
