We are excited to announce that the independent bar group Darwin & Wallace have been nominated for Growth Champion of the Year for the Growth Investor Awards 2016.
Since launching only four years ago, the independent bar group has gone on to open four successful bars in popular London Villages, known as No 11 Pimlico Road, No 32 The Old Town, No 1 Duke Street and No 197 Chiswick Fire Station, boasting beautiful interior designs, influenced by their surrounding neighbourhood.
Mel Marriott, Managing Director of Darwin & Wallace has had a clear, successful vision from the start, to redefine a formulaic Gastro Pub model with a modern, all day, and creatively designed interpretation of what a pub should be.
What made them such a success, was Mel’s ability to recognise the changing habits of socialising, opening up a bar that offered a relaxed ‘at home’ experience from breakfast all the way through to a nightcap drink. On their websites they encourage you to ‘plonk yourself in a chair and lose yourself for a few hours’, and if you speak to anyone that has visited them, they did exactly that. Mel has featured in a video talking about the business and the growth story of Darwin & Wallace.
“I am truly delighted to have mine and my teams collective efforts recognised with this nomination. Each day I am excited about the future promise of our company and the opportunity to bring our brand of hospitality to an ever wider audience of Like minded guests.” – Mel Marriott
Berkeley Scott have been lucky enough to support Mel with the success and growth of Darwin & Wallace over their four year journey, and we are extremely proud to have been a big part in nurturing the bars individualistic personality through our staff, so it is only natural for us to be Mel’s biggest supporter to win this highly deserved award.
If you would like to join us on helping Darwin & Wallace to win the award, please vote here! The vote is open until 3rd October and the winner will be revealed on 3rd November.
