Croydon set to welcome new hotel complex

Plans have been announced to construct a new hotel complex in the London borough of Croydon.

Once the hotel and apartment complex are built, on the site of Croydon College, it will actually become one of the tallest buildings in the borough and will also create lots of employment opportunities for local people, yourlocalguardian.co.uk reports.

Indeed, there will need to be a hotel recruitment drive in order to ensure that the complex is able to cope with consumer demand.

That's because it will feature as many as 224 high-end rooms, in addition to 161 flats, a restaurant and leisure facilities.

Details of the plan were released earlier this week and it is welcome news for people in the local area, some of whom will be hoping to find work at the new hotel complex.

It has been confirmed that the plans, which are a joint endeavour between the college and property developer Phoenix Logistics, will see the creation of a beautiful green garden.

Developers have claimed that the ambitious project will "encourage social activity in this part of Croydon".

The move forms part of a broader scheme to transform the land around the college into an attractive town-centre destination.

Although Croydon is some way from the city centre, there are good links into the heart of the capital, where there's always loads going on.

If tourists are looking for somewhere that's pleasant and yet still relatively inexpensive to stay in London, then this new hotel complex may represent a good option.

Alternatively, for those people who are in London on a business trip the hotel would seem to be ideal, as they would be sufficiently far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and yet within reachable distance of all the major business hubs.
