Entertainment chain Brooklyn Bowl will be opening its first site in the UK in London next week.
The New York-based firm has revealed that a new 800-capacity venue will boast 12 lanes for bowling, a large music area for 500 guests and a 120-cover restaurant. The restaurant will be managed by Blue Ribbon Restaurants Group, which will also be the first time outside of the US for the New York company, while visitors can enjoy a diverse menu of dishes, including egg shooters, fried chicken, Cajun catfish, oyster po' bos and French bread pizzas.
It has also been confirmed that three of the 12 lanes will be elevated to a private VIP party area with its own bar, while the rest of the alleys will have a six-foot-wide disco ball hanging above. The new venue will celebrate its opening with three nights of performances by the Brooklyn Bowl All-star Players – a series of funk and soul musicians from Antibalas, Lettuce and Soulive.
Brooklyn Bowl’s owner Peter Shapiro said: “When thinking of another city that's as influential on global culture as New York, there's only one that immediately stands out and that, of course, is London. We're thrilled to be bringing the Bowl's unique and multi-pronged vibe to what really is the most important city in the world.”
The original Brooklyn Bowl was launched in 2009 by Mr Shapiro and is located in the Big Apple's Williamsburg district. Since then, the likes of Kanye West, Snoop Dogg and Guns’N’Roses have all appeared there. Brooklyn Bowl is also planning to open a 2,000-capacity venue with 32 lanes on the Las Vegas strip in the spring.
Brooklyn Bowl at the O2 will open to the public on January 16th.
