Catering group Benugo has managed to win a contract worth £20 million to run the cafes, refreshment kiosks and restaurants in Regent's Park, London.
The contract, which will last until 2018, will see Benugo operate all catering that is offered in the 197-hectare site. This will include the park's current Garden Cafe being transformed into The Regent's Bar & Kitchen, a restaurant that offers British dishes, wood-fired pizzas and salads for families to either eat in or take away. Furthermore, a second venue near London Zoo, currently known as The Honest Sausage, will also serve ribs and other barbecue dishes to hungry visitors.
Other outlets include an espresso bar at the current Chester Road kiosk, a food truck on Primrose Hill which will boast hot dogs, sandwiches, coffee and ice cream, and a smoothie and shake bar at The Hub sports centre. There will also be a variety of sandwich kiosks on Holme Green, Marylebone Green and Hanover Bridges. In total, all venues are expected to be fully refurbished by spring next year.
It is hoped that these new sites will create a wide array of hospitality jobs for the local area.
This new contract is in a string of wins for the company that is led by founder Ben Warner and director Guy Kellner. Benugo was acquired back in 2008 and has experienced a chain of successes since. In 2013 alone, Benugo has two new openings in London: The Garden Café at Brown Hart Gardens and Fields Bar & Kitchen at Lincoln's Inn Fields. The firm also continues to offer catering services at a number of public sites such as the Natural History Museum in London, Ashmolean in Oxford and Edinburgh Castle.
The contract is set to start in November 2013.
