Bar operator Arc Inspirations will be opening its tenth venue in Leeds later this month, while it has also announced that it is planning a further two sites in 2014.
Opening on August 31st (2013), The Pit on Merrion Street will be an underground, US-themed bar, which will offer tasty food to customers. Located in the developing area of the Northern Quarter in the city, this district has seen a huge uptake of hospitality jobs in recent years. This includes other bars such as the North Bar and Sandinista launching here also. The Pit's kitchen, which will show off a smoker and broiler, will offer lobsters, steaks, ribs, burgers and wings, while the site will also feature ping pong tables, cocktail master classes, private party rooms and beer education events.
Arc Inspirations managing director Martin Wolstencroft said: "This area of Leeds is one of the best locations for independents. We’re not about followers, we enjoy our independence and so do our customers. They want the best but also we want our customers to expect the unexpected. The Pit is very different to our other bars in Leeds, Harrogate and York, and we recognise that quality in everything we do is a must. The urban, contemporary look is no excuse for not being at the top of our game."
Mr Wolstencroft further suggested that the firm is planning to build its portfolio in Yorkshire, with a further two bars opening next year. All of this comes just a month after the company unveiled its ninth bar, Banyan York, in a former chapel.
Arc Inspirations was founded in 1999 and opened it's first bar in Headingley, Leeds, in 2000. Now employing around 400 staff members, it is one of the largest bar and hospitality businesses in the north of England.
