Food services firm ARAMARK has won a new catering contract with one of the largest business parks in the south of England.
Under the five-year deal, the company will take over the main restaurant at Langstone Technology Park, in Havant, Portsmouth, as well as a convenience store, vending and hospitality services.
The contract, awarded by property and facilities management company Fasset Ltd which manages the park, is estimated to be worth around £7.4 million over the duration of the deal.
Under the agreement, ARAMARK will also invest £400,000 in an extensive refurbishment of current facilities at the business park, including improvements to both the restaurant and shop.
"Fasset's occupiers want fantastic food and retail on their doorstep and that's where we come in," said Richard Mackay, director of operations at ARAMARK.
"Our investment will enhance the facilities we already provide, maintaining Langstone's reputation as a premier business location in the region."
With Langstone Technology Park home to nearly 4,000 workers from 45 companies, based across more than 60,000 sq m of workspace, it may well be that ARAMARK will be looking to step up its catering recruitment activity in order to fulfil the contract.
Companies based at Langstone Technology Park include Xyratex, Jobsite and Scottish & Southern Energy.
Meanwhile, it was recently announced that ARAMARK's UK operation has been recognised for the efficiency of its operations.
The UK branch of the catering group was named Most Efficient Operator at ARAMARK's global awards ceremony at the end of November.
Mark Faulkner, chief operating officer for ARAMARK in the UK, commented: "This is great recognition for the hard work our teams have put in and the results they've delivered over the past year.
"By identifying and implementing new ways of doing things, we can continue to impress and delight our clients. I'm thrilled that the UK has picked up this award."
